44th Aberdeen Boys Brigade Company
The 44th Aberdeen Boys' Brigade Company was enrolled at Mannofield Church on 5th December 1907 so we celebrated our Centenary year in 2007.
At the start of 2011, we have 42 boys registered looked after by 11 staff.
Our Anchor Boys are a lively, energetic and sometimes noisy bunch. They especially enjoy games like dodgeball & helicopter as well as story time and doing crafts. These link into the Anchors award scheme zones of Body, Mind, Spirit, Community & Creativity. Anchor Boys meet on Thursdays from 6pm – 7pm.
Junior Section is all about fun, in playing games & sports, crafts and quizzes, trying new things and making new friends. The boys will be looking for greater independence and are developing a competitive edge. Juniors follow a similar award scheme to Anchors with the same Body, Mind, Spirit, Community & Creativity zones. Junior Section meet on a Thursday from 6.45 – 8.15pm.
Company Section is where the BB adventure really begins. There is a wide range of games, sports, activities for both indoors and outdoors. Boys work through the new Discover Award Scheme learning about a range of new and old subjects as they work towards Presidents & Queens Badges. For those ages 15+ the award scheme is called Challenge Plus with a mix of smaller challenges and more substantial projects to complete. The Company has its own website at www.40four.co.uk and is also on Facebook.
