See the Spread sheet in the large hall. We want young and old to share and enjoy this challenge.
The Good News edition will be used, with occasional passages from the King James version in
acknowledgement of its 450th anniversary. Reading aloud from the sermon lectern for not more than 10 minutes at a time.
It is not easy to allocate Bible portions at this stage but we know it will take 12 hours to read the four Gospels and Acts. It will be possible to indicate what you may be reading if you gather in the hall 10 or 20 minutes before the time you have offered to read in the church; and it is good to “sit in” the sanctuary for a short time before or after your contribution.
Support the effort by prayer, donation or sponsorship. Forms are available beside the Spreadsheet in the hall.
If you are to be a Reader ask your family and friends to make a contribution to your effort. When you feel you have collected enough money hand in your contribution to the church office and mark it “Bible Read.” Please do this by 31 August. It will be acknowledged if we have your details.
If you wish to make a DONATION please use one of the available forms or by using the offering plate at the door any Sunday and marking your envelope “Bible Read.”
During the “Reading” offering plates will also be placed in the Church.
So talk about it, encourage friends and strangers to come for a bit to listen. Decide what contribution you can make – by reading, by supervising, by roll-keeping, by door duty, by helping in the kitchen, by praying.
