The club was Mannofield Ladies Bowling Club, but there are so few men in the Recreation Club that they agreed to join us after our AGM in April, and the Club will then be known as Mannofield Church Bowling Club. The Winter session runs from the end of September to the end of April in the large hall at the church.. There are various competitions throughout the session with trophies for the winners and the runners-up. Also during the session thes are friendly games with Holburn West and Crown Ladies. Mid-way through the games there is always a welcome cup of tea.This is a very friendly group and new members will be made very welcome. Bowling shoes or flat-soled shoes should be worn and there are always some bowls available for use. In the Summer the club meets at Pitstraun, where two rinks are reserved on Friday afternoons. At the end of the session in April we have our AGM and prize-giving, followed by lunch at a local hotel. |
