Mannofield’s Musical Evening 2011 - 5th February 2011
Saturday the 5th of February 2011 saw the church hold its 3rd and most successful musical evening, organised by the Social Committee.
This year 117 people attended the evening where they were all brilliantly entertained by Jim, Marisha and Karen Addison, along with Eddie McGovern with a mixture of singing and instrumental pieces, varying from bothy ballads to Elton John to Scotland the What tributes. The audience were in good voice too, joining in with the more familiar songs.
Half way through the evening’s entertainment a 2 course meal was served – large portions, so no complaints, followed by a few words and a blessing from Keith before the start of the 2nd half of the musical entertainment.
£90 was also raised for the Development fund from a “Guess which distillery the bottle of whiskey comes from” competition.
All Age Service – 6th February 2011
The All age service on Sunday 6th of February saw groups from across the Church age range take part in an uplifting and joyful service, sharing their talents with the rest of the congregation.
The Young Church along with the Some Sing Simple Choir sang “From my Knees to my Nose”, while the Bell Ringers performed “The Snowman”. With Jimmy on the piano rather than the organ he was ably assisted by Tim and Chris Still during the various hymns and songs of worship. The Pickled Cow Drama Group performed an entertaining sketch on the theme of making the best use of our Talents.
